Carl Kunhardt
Owner / Chief Diving Instructor
From his first dive at age 15, Carl was hooked on scuba! Carl has been a dive professional for over 45 years, attaining his Divemaster certification in 1976. As an active diver through those years, Carl has witnessed the rapid progress not only in the evolution of equipment, but in the significant changes to training standards and methodologies that add to the safety and enjoyment of the sport.
A retired Marine Officer, Carl has spent two careers outside of scuba immersed in training. He has been designated a Master Training Specialist by the U.S. Navy Training Command and brings a wealth of knowledge in training methods and techniques to make learning scuba fun and informative. Carl is an active SDI|TDI|First Response Training International and Divers Alert Network (DAN) instructor.
Mike Kohler
Course Director / Instructor Trainer
Mike is an active Course Director / Instructor Trainer for TDI/SDI/First Response Training International and is a Divers Alert Network (DAN) Instructor. He was introduced to scuba diving on Camp Schwab, Okinawa in 1997. In 2014 he became a dive professional and has taught recreational and technical scuba diving for six different training agencies to help grow the lifestyle.
His favorite types of diving are full cave, staged decompression, and rebreather. Some of his favorite diving locations include Fiji, Thailand, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, La Paz, Mexico, and the awesome caves in Playa Del Carmen/Tulum, Mexico.
Leora Benesh
Instructor
Leora is an active Instructor for TDI/SDI/First Response Training International and Divers Alert Network (DAN). She started diving in 2011 and became a dive professional in 2016.
Her favorite types of diving are exploring new locations and shipwrecks. Some of her favorite dive locations are; Bonaire (for its shore diving). Distant tropical locations; Thailand and Fiji. Locally; Scuba Ranch, to keep skills fresh in Terrell, Texas.
Mike Hamilton
Instructor
A retired Dallas firefighter and current law enforcement officer for 40 years , Mike brings a wealth of experience with over 40 years as a diver and over 12 years as an instructor (SDI and PADI).
An experienced Public Safety diver for over 20 years and a member of FEMA, Mike was in charge of the North Texas dive/rescue team assisting Public Safety departments throughout north Texas and is currently a Public Safety Dive Instructor.
